Overview

MidChapter ("we", "our", or "us") is a reading tracker app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only the information those services share (typically name and email).

Reading data: The books you add to your shelves, your reading progress (page numbers), and the dates you finish books. This data is stored securely in our database and is only accessible to you.

No tracking: We do not use advertising trackers, analytics SDKs, or sell your data to third parties.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the MidChapter service — syncing your shelves and progress across devices. We do not use your reading data for advertising or share it with anyone.

Amazon Affiliate Disclosure

MidChapter participates in the Amazon Associates Program. When you tap "Buy on Amazon" for a book, you are taken to Amazon.com with an affiliate link. If you make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We do not share any personal data with Amazon beyond what is standard for a web link click.

Third-Party Services

Supabase: We use Supabase to store your account and reading data securely. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant. See their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

Google Books API: Book search is powered by the Google Books API. Search queries are sent to Google's servers. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at the address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

MidChapter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
